Founded in 1983, The Northern Illinois Food Bank had outgrown their facility and was ready to expand. The new Food Distribution and Community Nutrition Center was designed to store and distribute even more food and develop even more programs.
This unique project design consisted of a cellular raceway system installed on pre-engineered bar joist supports. The second floor office design provided open space areas below.
Northern Illinois Food Bank provides food to more than 60,000 people each week through a network of more than 600 agencies in 13 northern Illinois counties. This Community Nutrition and Food Distribution Center in Geneva, IL is custom-built. Technology equipped classrooms allow the food bank to provide seminars for it’s 600 partner feeding agencies and community groups.
