The Higher Ground shelter is total-precast building, components include insulated wall panels, prestressed hollow-core planks, and precast stairs. The wall panels are load-bearing, but also provide an exterior acid-etched, colored architectural finish.
The canopy spans 20’ longitudinally and 12.5’ in the transverse direction using no intermediate or secondary structure.
This partition parallels a main corridor circulation space and marks a shift from dim focus workstations to open social spaces.
