University Sculptures

President Richard Nixon appointed Hardin as the 17th United States Secretary of Agriculture from 1969 to 1971. He served in Nebraska as the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Dean of Agriculture in 1953 and was the Chancellor from 1954 to 1968. He is known for his support of the 1970 farm bill. This sculpture is located on the campus of The University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
