The hospital was designed to offer the highest standards of care, including aseptic environments for surgery, while also providing the high‐touch, homelike spaces that clients appreciate.

The design incorporates red brick masonry, industrial sash windows, concrete, and zinc-colored metal cladding, and gives the appearance of a building constructed over time. The combination of materials allows the building to blend into the surrounding landscape.
The Camano Island Library, Camano Island, Washington is a great example of adaptive reuse. The design was a collaboration between Designs Northwest Architects and Stig Carlson Architect.
