The seven-story building at St. Jude includes an OR, surgery suites, ICU suites, a proton beam therapy unit and graduate school facilities.
The design for the Lexington Senior Center provides model features for site sustainability, including interior parking, rain gardens, biofiltration basins for on-site storm water detention, permeable pavers in parking areas, and an emphasis on landscape and detail.
Nilands in-house pattern and machine shop recreated the cast iron foundry tooling needed for an exact replication of the original 1920's light pole. Each section of the iron casting was sand blasted and several layers of paint removed revealed the raw iron casting.
