The 101 Parallel facade system has aligned joints and generates a homogeneous composition that highlights the unique personality of our natural slates.
The design flexibility of precast concrete gives many different shade patterns. That module rotated and adapted depending on sun exposure. A logarithm located where more shade was needed and panels rotated in two directions. Where less shade was required, the panels became flat.
The new Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) Facility addresses the massing and materiality of its urban industrial context, successfully creating an iconic building to highlight the presence of the police department in this developing neighborhood, just north of downtown Minneapolis.
Minimal frame provides for maximum daylight. More glass and less frame also means open sightlines and better visibility.
