Since the 55 Hudson yards lobby is illuminated by natural light, the ceiling panels needed to be extremely flat, so a honeycomb backer was employed. Glass wall partitions are not only modern and stylish in appearance; they offer many advantages for the contemporary office. Most notably, they effectively create a light and spacious working environment.
With its eleven floors, the Ellipse tower was conceived as an urban beacon. Its façade is decked out in Terreal glazed cladding with very neutral contemporary colors hanging in alignment with the brick of workers’ houses.
The colonnade wall is visible on the front and rear sides, which required the precast to have two-sided, finished surfaces. The design utilized four-sided, brick inlay columns.
iSpace Environments was invited to collaborate with the architects and designers at NELSON to outfit nearly every inch of Gislason & Hunter’s floorplate.
