With both Design and Construction completed in a record 27 months, the 147,000 square feet courthouse represents the fastest delivery of a federal courthouse in modern history. From the beginning, precast concrete was envisioned as an important design component, provided by Gage Brothers.
The Higher Ground shelter is total-precast building, components include insulated wall panels, prestressed hollow-core planks, and precast stairs. The wall panels are load-bearing, but also provide an exterior acid-etched, colored architectural finish.
