In 1974, on the foundation of Integrity and Pride, Fred Shaw built Shaw-Lundquist, a family owned business that would stand the test of time. He knew that we didn’t have to be the biggest General Contractor, but we had to be the best to serve our clients and do the right thing. For 43 years Shaw-Lundquist has demonstrated a history of excellence, innovation and impact on how people live, work, and play in our community. Today, Shaw-Lundquist is the third-largest minority owned company in the metropolitan area and one of the largest Asian American contractors in the Nation. As a minority-owned business, we are focused on the inclusion of women and minority subcontractors and workers for our projects. Shaw-Lundquist’s founder, Fred Shaw, played a pivotal role in the advancement of minorities in business having been a founding member of the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) of Minnesota and the Chinese American Business Association. He was recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit by the Metropolitan Economic Development Association (MEDA) as an inaugural inductee into their Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame. His son, Hoyt Hsiao, carries on that leadership spirit to this day as he leads the company into the future.
