Future Rock-Climbing Wall | Straughn Trout Architects

Student Development Center at Florida Polytechnic University

The central upper roof above the front entryway is designed to support and shade the 30-foot (9-meter) future rock climbing wall outside the main entry and maximize future opportunities to incorporate photovoltaic panels or on-site renewable solar energy and associated research. The front reception area is exposed through glass, displaying an additional detail provided by Straughn Trout Architects. Florida Polytechnic University commissioned the design architect to develop a collage of digital imagery inspired by the facility's architecture, the client's brand and vision, and the programmatic components of the facility.
