Granada Theater

Suburban World, now called Granada Theater, is a historic theater located in the Uptown area of Minneapolis. It was built in 1927 by Liebenberg and Kaplan and was originally named the Granada Theater. The recent renovation converted it into a banquet hall and live music performance space, while returning it to the original 1920’s glamour. The restoration included cleaning of the exterior facade, structural repair, interior alterations and the removal of a kitchen addition in the lobby. The historic plaster walls and ceiling were repaired and repainted, the original ceiling lights have been restored, and dislodged stones were repositioned to ensure the building remains a prominent symbol in the Uptown neighborhood.
