Dunbar High School has received numerous awards, including the AIA|D.C. chapter’s Design Award in architecture and Presidential Citation in sustainable design, both in 2014, as well as the Congress for New Urbanism’s Charter Award for Best New Civic Building, also in 2014.
The Port bench is designed to be situated on top of walls and ledges. Shown here is the version with backrests and armrests, but there are numerous product configurations available within this modular line.

Additionally, as illustrated by the exterior, we also developed a custom solution for the bullnose feature on these same charcoal panels to allow a seamless look.

A cool wind is blowing in, perhaps capturing the drying wash on the laundry line. This movement-inspired design is made from strips of painted pine plywood on a metal frame. Lit by 5 LEDs inside a Ø4.25” sphere, each piece is suspended from a Ø3’ mirror ACM ceiling plate.
