The RLM series by Bock Lighting was first developed in the early 1900s to replace the individual overhead lights traditionally used in warehouses and factories.
Since the 55 Hudson yards lobby is illuminated by natural light, the ceiling panels needed to be extremely flat, so a honeycomb backer was employed.
